This hospital has been referred to by all of the above names since it opened in 1880.  I recently toured the inside of the complex and took many pictures of the beautiful architecture.  I wish that I would have brought my better camera but it was rainy so I just took these with my Casio Exilim.  It was moving to be inside the hospital and imagine what it must have been like for its residents, doctors, nurses, and other workers.  I couldn’t help but feel such sadness for the poor people who lived and died inside those rooms.  The hospital was well-intentioned but rumors of inhumane treatment are well-documented.
